Toddlewood: Kids steal the limelight at the 34th Hong Kong Film Awards
Hong Kong’s stars shone the red carpet but it was the trendy tots who stole the show in their Giorgio Armani garb.
Hong Kong’s finest movie stars turned up last Sunday to celebrate the industry’s cinematic achievements at the 34th Hong Kong Film Awards, Hong Kong’s equivalent to the Oscars.
While the results were expected, (Sean Lau Ching Wan and Vicki Zhao Wei won Best Actor and Best Actress as favorites with Overheard 3 and Dearest respectively) the red carpet fashions were less predictable. Lots of solid hues, lace patterns and flowy ball gowns dotted the ceremony. All the celebrities, from Shu Qi to Charlene Choi stunned in their red carpet best but who really stood out? Well believe it or not, our pick of best dressed goes to not one, but five actors that are barely five feet tall! Child stars Winnie Ho Yuen-ying, Fu Shun-ying, Keira Wang Sze-nga, Zaha Fathima and Nayab Khan, from the movie Little Big Master stole the thunder from other veteran actors with their poise and adorable outfits.
The little tykes were an angelic vision in their well-tailored Giorgio Armani dresses. They were the trendy junior squad on the red carpet, rocking pastel colours, lace embellishments and flower applications like pros. The dresses were age-appropriate and definitely brought to mind the nursery rhyme that little girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice. We love how they’re all wearing matching skin-coloured stockings, holding hands and not competing to be the best dressed. Ahh childhood!
Now if only we could look as polished and angelic as these kids…
