The maxi skirt and pencil skirt battle it out to become this season’s hottest trend! Inspired by Jessica Alba, Miranda Kerr and Reese Witherspoon, take a look at our favourite skirts for Spring 2014.

From the catwalk to the street, the pencil skirt is a staple piece for every woman’s wardrobe. This style of skirt has attracted a large number of people who have been quick to adopt this retro trend.

What’s the reason for its success, you ask? The skirt dresses up any outfit in no time and immediately provides you with glamour and elegance. The pencil skirt should be formfitting on the hips and worn with a formal shirt, like Reese Witherspoon, for a chic look – or with a simple t-shirt or an oversized sweater for a casual twist. Add a pair of pumps and you are ready for any occasion!

Here at Marie France Asia, we love the pencil skirt trend, all that’s left is for you to choose your style: Striped, leather, cotton or wool, anything you could ever wish for.

Another favourite piece of ours for this season is the maxi skirt. This skirt is already very well known and loved for its practicality and femininity. In summer and winter, maxi skirts will pair well with clothes you already have in your wardrobe. Wear it high-waisted like Jessica Alba for an elegant look, or opt for a floral skirt accompanied by a shirt like Olivia Palermo. An all-black maxi skirt is also a staple piece for any wardrobe as it works well for day and night. Just like the pencil skirt, the maxi skirt offers a multitude of possibilities for any woman.

So, which style of skirt will you choose? Honestly, we cannot decide so we’ll take both!
