When we think of statement necklaces, we think big, bejewelled and ornate ones. What if we tell you dainty ones can be as visually striking?
This year, a number of designers infused the stark beauty of simple, unobstructed jewellery into their Spring ready-to-wear runways. Dries Van Noten completed some of their looks with rustic-inspired fine necklaces showcasing a sleek rectangular pendant. Balmain, on the other hand, had their models port modern chokers with a clean design. Some of them are transparent, and it doesn't get any simpler than that.
As expected, the fashion runway's fascination for simplistic necklaces has made its way to online shops worldwide. Gnossem offers Adornia Barra's double-bar silver-plated necklace, while Topshop — mirroring Balmain — offers an unembellished, contemporary choker. Though distinct, they are both simple, striking and no less capable than their larger counterparts in terms of making a fashion statement.
