When designers look to their childhood for inspiration, the results are colourful prints, polka dots, headbands with ears and all things plush!

The dominant trends for this spring / summer season are no doubt pastels and prints. But that’s not all! The other huge trend of the season sees the return of childhood fantasies and indulgences.

The trend does not only impress the greatest of designers, but also the more sophisticated fashionistas and socialites in London, Milan, New York and Paris.

It was particularly strong on the runways of Moschino by Jeremy Scott during Milan Fashion Week. The show has not only caused a furor for the A-list front-row – Rita Ora and Katy Perry – but also for the actual looks that went down the runway, whether SpongeBob or Happy Meal crazy!

So here’s a little shopping guide to get the right pieces and completely plunge into your childhood!
