Foodies, hold tight, there’s an unforgettable omakase experience hidden amongst all that nature on Fort Canning Hill.

Traditional flavours are timeless, but dishes with an out-of-the-box twist will definitely grab anyone’s attention. For a variety of surprising taste sensations totally worth the calories, the 12 Course Chinese New Year 发财 Omakase at FORT by Maison Ikkoku will impress even the most discernible of foodies.

Within the intimate confines of the eclectically designed industrial-chic restaurant-bar, FORT ranks as one of the more unique venues to enjoy your omakase experience. With its CNY-themed menu, you can expect dishes that are certainly imaginative. Visually stunning in presentation, many of them are served with a characteristic flair (heads up, they literally set one on fire at your table). Without giving away too much, we’ve picked a handful of courses out of the 12 that we think might tickle your fancy. Head up to the gallery above and flick through some our favourites – from umami-tastic whole abalone braised in miso (招财进宝) to cheese-baked live Irish oyster (好事发财). But if you want the full experience, you might want to make your reservation, stat!

On the drinks front, we need to tell you right now: no one should step into FORT without downing a bevy of utterly lip-smacking tipples. As the sister company of Maison Ikkoku – the establishment well-known for its “no menu” bespoke cocktail concept – it’s only inevitable that cocktails will also be a highlight of the evening at FORT. Cocktail connoisseurs will no doubt get a kick out of the colourful creations the in-house mixologists expertly whip up.

The 12 Course Chinese New Year 发财 Omakase is available from now until 11 February 2017. At a surprisingly affordable price of SGD88++ per person, who wouldn’t want to feed their bellies with a smorgasbord of delightful dishes over the Chinese New Year period that boast the quintessential Maison Ikkoku touch?
