The Ottomani: The Nomad Series
In their newly-introduced The Nomad Series, the über cool Middle Eastern supper club will be inviting internationally renowned chefs to develop distinctive menus each month. A few notable names to look out for include Chef Alejandro Saravia, widely-regarded as the man responsible for bringing Peruvian cuisine to Australia's shores, and acclaimed Brazilian chef Ivan Brehm, among others. Expect a marriage of the restaurant's signature Middle Eastern flair and each guest chef's distinctive style. First in line is pastry extraordinaire and James Beard nominated author Jason Licker, who will work alongside The Ottomani's Head Chef Beau Churchill to introduce 3 Middle Eastern inspired desserts for their 6-course menu. Having had a taste of this first edition of their guest chef collab, we daresay it comes highly-raved.

Mod-Asian and mod-Thai dishes with Chef Ton (July 2018)
CE LA VI and Fine Dining Lovers has collaborated with internationally-acclaimed Chef Ton of Bangkok's Ledu (ranked #14 in Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2018) for a two-day dining showcase.
Get ready for a fusion dining experience that marries innovative Mod-Asian flavours with Mod-Thai cuisine. The first day of the series will feature a sumptuous 5-course lunch menu that includes mouthwatering dishes like a Durian panna cotta & smoked coconut by Chef Ton and Lo Soi Poached Foie Gras by Chef Joey - a perfect illustration of the melding of robust Asian flavours and modern gastronomy techniques. This will be followed by a 7-course dinner menu which includes a refreshing Scallop & Oyster Ceviche, Venison, among others. Complement your meal with the wines expertly hand-picked by Mathias Camilleri, Singapore's only Master Sommelier.

Ginett Invites ‘Bangkok’s favourite French chef’
Now, this is a dining event you might want to make room in your calendar for. Between now and 1 July, Ginett will play host one of Thailand's most celebrated celebrity chefs (also known as 'Bangkok's favourite French chef'), Herve Frerard. Here's an insight to the French native's impressive culinary credentials: besides having whipped up dishes for the Thai Royal Family and establishing the Thailand arm of Disciples Escofffier, he's also a published cookbook author. Known for his highly seasonal menus, expect classic French dishes like the irresistibly soft Beef Oxtail, Slow Cooked Organic Egg, Tomato Cœur de Bœuf , Crispy Organic Chicken Supreme and desserts like the beloved Rum Baba, among others.

In a bid to keep things fresh on the menu perhaps, guest chef collaborations certainly continue to be a trend well-and-alive in our local restaurant scene.

Beyond being an exciting dining special for guests, these merging of culinary minds also offers gourmet lovers and food enthusiasts an intimate insight into the finesse and technique behind their favourite dishes. Just last month, Italian resto Publico Ristorante welcomed renowned Pasta Master, Alessandro Aldrovandi, to create an exclusive wine pairing menu with Publico’s Chef Marco Turatti and to share his wealth of knowledge and passion for the art of fresh pasta-making with diners.
