Scoops of Hope: Eat gelato for a good cause

Head over to Marina Bay Sands to savour special gelato flavours created for charity by celebrity chefs like Wolfgand Puck,David Myers and Tetsuya Wakuda.

Enjoy some delicious gelato and do your bit for charity at the same time at the first ever Marina Bay Sands pop-up gelato station. Held from July 31 to August 9, Scoops of Hope sees eight celebrity chefs from Marina Bay Sands’ restaurants concoct local flavours of gelato in aid of The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund. Proceeds from the sales will go towards helping children from low-income families.

If you’ve ever wondered how masala teh tarik gelao would taste like, now’s your chance to find out. Adrift by David Myers is creating a spin on the popular milk tea beverage that is something of a national drink in the country.

Other participating chefs that pay tribute to the local flavours of Singapore include Wolfgang Puck, with his gula Melaka concoction and Tetsuya Wakuda of Waku Ghin with his coconut and white miso gelato offering, which takes inspiration from chendol, one of Chef Tetsuya’s favourite local desserts.

The pop-up store will be located at The Shoppes Canal Level, B2 from 11am to 9pm. Each scoop is priced at SGD4.50, a double scoop goes for SGD8, while a triple scoop costs SGD12
