If you have yet to try Singapore’s national dish, get down and dirty by tucking into these scrumptious chili crabs. You won’t be disappointed.

Singapore is home to a wide variety of dishes and truth be told, they’re incredibly appetizing in their own right. Which essentially makes it a mammoth of a task to crown any one dish as our national dish. That is until chili crab comes into the picture – there’s no quibbling there.

Think of the dish as fresh succulent mud crabs, usually from Sri Lanka, cooked in a rich piquant and eggy chili sauce – is your mouth watering already? Contrary to its name though, it is not actually that spicy so if you don’t like it too hot, you don’t have to be afraid.

Since you’ll have to eat chili crabs with your hands, trust us when we say, it’s worthy enough to ruin manicures for. Lastly, don’t even get us started on fried mantous that come with the dish to soak up all that eggy goodness. Mmm.

So roll your sleeves backs, and get down and dirty with our choice picks for the best chili crabs in town. Once you start, you won’t be able to stop!
