Sydney Bites: Luxe delights us with their new brunch menu
Serving up a delightful selection of Aussie-Asian dishes, the expanding brunch menu is definitely welcomed.
The mere mention of brunch instantly manages to get us smiling from ear to ear. Just thinking about the goodness of poached eggs, granola and pancakes is enough to cause some serious tummy rumbles. Which is why when we heard of the ineffably cool cafe, Luxe’s expanding all-day brunch menu, we were more than thrilled to get a taste.
Originally from Sydney, Luxe boasts of quite the delectable selection of food that fuses quintessential Aussie dining with an Asian spin. For instance the granola with yogurt, blood orange, and pomegranate salad or the quinoa and chia seed pudding with coconut yogurt and seasonal fruit (we had it with dragon fruit) brings a refreshing and much welcomed change to the typical Western brunch menu.
In addition, we have to give mention to their in-house granola that’ll make even the non-granola eaters a convert with their scrumptious addictive crunch. Topped off with blood orange slices and pomegranate seeds, the entire bowl was a slick combo of sweet and citrusy flavours that’ll have you scooping up every last bit in seconds.
For those who’re after traditional brunch offerings, you can look forward to favourites like eggs benedict with poached eggs, leg ham, and Hollandaise sauce and your wholesome all-Australian breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, cumin roasted tomatoes, pork and fennel sausages (our favourite!), avocado, and mushrooms. Crispy bacon and perfectly fluffy eggs – what more could you ask for?
The Instagram-worthy space is helmed by celebrity chef and creative director, Chui Lee Luk, who was born in Singapore but raised in Sabah and Sydney. Her Asian roots and Australian upbringing definitely serves to give the dishes an authentic flavour as she knows exactly the type of local produce to infuse into her creations.
By the time we had wiped our plates clean, let’s just say we were only pining for more.
