Detox: 4 Ways to cleanse your body

Foie gras, log, glazed chestnuts and chocolates – after all the delectable treats, it’s time to make way for good resolutions and rid our body of toxins.

1. BET ON PLANTS

Among the most recognized, go for dandelion which is diuretic, chicory, which stimulates the digestive elimination functions and also green tea that helps eliminate fat. Drink about 1 liter of tea or herbal tea each day to eliminate most of the accumulated toxins.

2. GO FOR THE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

Apple, broccoli, lemon, beetroot, carrot, avocado, citrus, which should we choose? Well, everything! Fruits and vegetables are rich in fiber (which aid digestion and have a powerful satiating effect). They also contain antioxidants, vitamins and minerals but contain no fat. In addition, they are waterlogged and participate in the hydration of the body. Lemon is the king of the detox with its diuretic properties. The broccoli is a great hunter of free radicals and beets, avocado or apples are all well supplied with antioxidants that fight against premature cellular aging.

3. FILL UP ON OMEGA-3

They are essential! Only food can provide you with Omega-3 as the body is not able to produce it naturally. They are known to prevent cardiovascular disease and increase good cholesterol. You can find them in flax oil, walnuts, canola and in fatty fish (salmon, mackerel, herring, trout, sardines).

4. DRINK WATER

Do not forget, water is your main ally for a good detox. It will help your kidneys and your liver to cleanse the body as well as keep it hydrated. Drink six to eight glasses of water a day to drain your body. A quick tip for maximum effect: add lemon!
