How to regulate your appetite?

updated the 14 July 2015 à 18:31

By adopting good reflexes and eating food that is naturally filling, let’s re-discover the notions of hunger, satisfaction and pleasure!

In 2011, Dr Jean-Philippe Zermati, nutritionist and specialist of eating disorders, made a diagnosis: “After a few years of war against food, the eater eventually is unable to distinguish their thoughts from their sensations. If the hunger is difficult to identify, the satiety is much more difficult to detect.” That’s why many of us constantly oscillate between absurd limitations and uncontrollable drives, while being systematically frustrated. If this yo-yo behaviour has a negative impact on our weight, it also affects our morale and undermines our self-image. Making peace with our appetite and food sensations is complex, and requires time, effort and, in certain cases, specialist support. But it’s worth the money because it is the only way to durably calm our relationship with food. Here are the first steps on the path to achieve food peace, so that eating is no longer a source of anxiety and will become a pleasure again.
