Need to find some energy to face a long day? Try these stimulating foods that will give a real boost to the body.

The middle of the afternoon and you feel your eyelids becoming incredibly heavy? Unable to finish the work folder or to focus on what your friend is saying to you? If you can, give yourself a nap of about 20 minutes, as the health benefits are widely demonstrated. Otherwise, go for foods that provide quick boosts of energy.

WHIPLASH: SUGAR AND COFFEE IN MODERATION

As soon as you feel the sleepy feeling arrive, you may tend to jump on the first cake or first sugary treat. Our bodies and especially our brains, indeed demand sugar to recover. If the solution is effective, it is not sustainable for long. Our sugar level in the blood rises quickly and collapses just as quickly, leaving us more exhausted than before. So we need a new shot. And the vicious cycle sets in. You should therefore limits the sugary pleasures, and favour foods with a low glycemic index (such as whole grains or oilseeds – almonds, hazelnuts and the like). Also do not rely on coffee too much. The boost is real, but the mild stroke may also follow. Being too full with coffee also tires us more than it helps us to stay awake.
