Shot by Richard Johnson, “Weapon of Choice” campaign calls against the psychological harassment of children through a series of powerful images.

US photographer Richard Johnson’s “Weapon of Choice” campaign hits hard. By visually representing injuries that words can cause – thanks to the larger than life makeup – these photos alert the public about the impact of bullying on children.

It is alarmingly common to have bullying between children at the school’s playground. Sometimes it is only words, but who said can’t harm and  sometimes leave an even bigger scar as it is psychological.

It is difficult to imagine the many moral implications that verbal abuse has on these children. With these photos, the impact of emotional damage emerges so strongly that we cannot close our eyes.

FYI, each word represented was chosen by the participants from a list of words. For them, it was the starting point of a story related to bullying they have experienced. Sometimes the stories were so repressed that even the parents of the children had never heard of.
