Here are 5 reasons why getting married in your 30s is not such a bad idea after all.

One thing is for sure: as women, we feel an immense social pressure to tie the knot, regardless of whether we are a) ready or b) want to. This something that starts becoming very apparent the moment you’re past your swinging mid-twenties. (If that’s part of the reason why you dread those Christmas or Chinese New Year family gatherings and the intrusive relatives that come with it, trust us; you’re not alone).

Studies have surfaced that more women are waiting longer to tie the knot today – something that holds true even here in Asia. In fact, the 2017 General Household Survey in Singapore reveals that 70% of Singaporeans in their mid- to late 20s are opting to stay single, with most prioritising their career above marriage. This is a markedly sharp rise from 50% only 15 years ago.

While there are critics who still champion the perks of marrying young, there are undeniable benefits to marrying later in your 30s.  Armed with more experience, knowledge and wisdom, marrying in your 30s gives you better perspective in making informed decisions on something as life-changing as marriage.
