Continuing our interview with Francine-Hélène Samak, psychologist and hypnosis practitioner for 25 years. The author of “Self-hypnosis, the art of beneficial influence” (éd. Bussière) helps us to clearly see the practice that can help to alleviate our physical and mental ailments effectively, without side effects and even…at home.

For what and for whom is self-hypnosis suitable?

Francine-Hélène Samak: There is no restriction on the psychological profile of the recipient, and the fields of application are very large and continue to grow. Obviously, hypnosis is recommended for the treatment of physical pain. It is especially for the treatment of addictions such as overeating or smoking, phobias and psychosomatic stress-related diseases, among others… But it can also be very useful when pursuing an objective, when we want to exceed in sporting level, or do well in an examination. For these situations, the practice of hypnosis in itself proves to be particularly interesting. In relation to food, management of emotions or the pursuit of a goal, daily practice greatly helps one find good solutions to the difficult situations which often present themselves.
