As one of the less explored islands amongst the many in Malaysia, Redang is quite the hidden gem. That makes the beaches relatively empty and if you’re lucky, you may just be the only crew there to revel in its beauty. Famous for crystalline waters and numerous coral reefs that surround the shore, the island easily gains prestige as a prime site for snorkeling activities. To head there, hop on Berjaya Air’s direct flights from Singapore to Redang (from approx. USD280).

Nongsa, Indonesia
This place is our personal favourite and while a stay in the luxurious Montigo Ngonsa or Point Marina may set you back, the 45 minute ferry trip from Singapore to Batam makes up for the strain on your wallet (two ways for approx. USD37). The genteel and serene ambiance of the white-walled resort offers up a much-needed respite from the hectic urban lifestyle.
