We review a 5-star staycation like no other at the hotel’s Premier Club Suite – with all perks included!

With a vast number of 5-star hotels emerging across Asia and the continuous demand for that ultimate luxury experience from savvy regional and international travellers alike – deciding where to stay has become harder than ever.

But really – what does set one hotel apart from the rest when it comes to the quest for the ultimate luxurious experience?

We can confidently tell you that, at least for us, luxury is all in the details. And this is exactly what the Ritz Carlton Millenia Singapore delivered when we hopped over for a weekend staycation.

From the moment we stepped in, we were transported into what we would think of as ‘the perfect Singapore experience’ in terms of hospitality, luxury, view and immense attention to detail. Yes, we do live in the Lion city, but from time to time we need an extra pampering weekend to renew our love vows with the city we now call home.

The suite

Luckily our Club Premier suite had the most stunning view of the city – which sometimes as residents we forget how beautiful it is. Located at the 31st level, we had a panoramic view of the Marina Bay with all its iconic features. Stretching from the living room to the bedroom and even the bathroom – it was like the closest we could get into taking in the full grandeur of the iconic architectural structures by the bay. Sipping champagne in the bathtub and taking in the view at sunset was one of the main highlights of our stay.

Other perks included the heavenly Asprey Purple Water amenities which further enhanced our spa-like experience in the bathroom, the walk-in wardrobe to store our Louboutins and Pradas and a Nespresso machine for an in-house caffeine fix in bed. Exactly what we need to survive the weekend!

Furnished in a subtle and classy way – much to our liking – the room combined a modern intimate atmosphere with lightness due to the all-round glass windows. think of it as a luxe suite in the sky.

The Club Lounge

The view we had was so stunning and picture-perfect that at first we didn’t want to leave our suite, that is, until we were informed about what’s awaiting us at the Club Level lounge.

Accessible from 7am to 11 pm daily for all Club Level guests, the lounge is what sets the Ritz Carlton experience apart and adds that X factor to make the staycation more than just about a relaxing stay in terms of location, great service and amenities. In fact, the experience is designed so that the Club level guests would have no reason to leave the premise – unless of course they wish to see the city’s landmarks in which they also get a complimentary Limo service to chauffeur them around the bay.

From Champagne breakfast to British afternoon tea, Hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and dessert hour – the club lounge offers various Asian and Western culinary indulgences all day long that just like us, you’ll find that the only trips you’ll be making are up and down the escalator from the suite to the lounge! When you have all you need and more, why not? We seriously have never been this spoilt.

But really, once you stuff yourself with delicious food, take in the view from the gorgeous bathtub and finish up all the Nespresso capsules in your room – you should head down for a little bit of culture – at the lobby.

Art and fashion

Apart from the glitz and champagne – The Ritz Carlton also offers an enriching experience for art-enthusiasts as it prides itself of being the home to 4,200 art pieces – including some museum-quality pieces and some commissioned ones by the hotel.

A 28-minute podcast art tour highlighting the key pieces is available at the concierge and definitely worth leaving your heavenly suite for, to indulge in a little bit of art appreciation tour.

Fashionistas like us are not forgotten as well, for the Ritz Carlton has thought of the perfect souvenir to take back home from our luxurious experience. Commissioned by the hotel and designed by local Singaporean brand ERA ORA, a collection of beautiful six silk twill scarves and pocket squares entitled ‘Travellers’ Tales’ – depicting the hotel’s iconic art and memorable views – are available at the hotel’s retail shop.

This means that even after the weekend has finished you can still drag that gorgeous scarf out of your wardrobe, breathe in the colours and be transported back to your luxury suite in an instant.

A perfect way to start your day with a smile and recharge for another week at work.
