The well-travelled Singaporean actor has designed a limited edition range for famed suitcase brand Samsonite.

Fans of esteemed luggage brand Samsonite listen up! Actor, author and artist Edmund Chen has designed an exclusive collection of suitcases for the brand, inspired by the four seasons. “Cherish” by Edmund intends to remind one to hold dear to the present and live life to the fullest.

This creative collaboration came about when Loretta Urquhart, Head of Communications at SEA Samsonite approached Edmund to design something, having seen the work he had done for the longest drawing. One thing led to another and that’s how “Cherish” was born.

The collection is an innovation in itself, with the artwork being embedded onto the CURV material, instead of being positioned as just a layer on top of the luggage’s shell, allowing the artwork to be resistant to possible scratches caused by airport handlers. Four parts of the 600 meter long masterpiece are re-interpreted by Edmund and interwoven into the shells of Samsonite’s signature Cosmolite collection, known for its incredible lightness and unparalleled strength using patended CURV technology from Samsonite.

If you’re an aspiring designer, you might want to check out Samsonite’s Be A Samsonite Designer contest where you can express your creativity and artwork inspired by your home country. The contest runs from March 16 to April 30, 2015 and winners stand a chance to have their winning design produced as a limited edition suitcase along with a round trip to Europe for two worth up to USD20,000.

100 limited pieces of Spring will be available in two sizes respectively from June 2015 at selected Samsonite boutiques. Additionally, five exclusive sets of the ”Cherish” collection comprising of Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter will be sold and all proceeds will go towards charity
