S.E.A Aquarium, Singapore
With more than 800 species of marine animals, this aquarium is home to creatures such as majestic manta rays, goliath groupers, napoleon wrasses, and plenty of shark species. The biggest draw is the Open Ocean habitat.

Ocean Park, Hong Kong
Ocean Park is located on the southern side of Hong Kong Island. You get the best of both worlds here because it is half marine mammal park, half animal theme park. From exhibits like the giant panda habitat, to the world's largest aquarium dome, Ocean Park will thrill any animal lover.

This aquarium is home to a gigantic tank called the Kuroshio Sea Tank - it holds the largest fish in the world: the whale shark. The world's first successfully bred-in-captivity manta ray also lives here.

National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium, Taiwan
Pingtung, Taiwan is home to this fascinating marine life park. They house an exhibit called the Waters of Taiwan, featuring the biology of high mountain streams, rivers and reservoirs. This aquarium is located right along the coast, and according to Tripadvisor, it is huge!

Located within the Beijing Zoo, this is the most advanced inland aquarium in China, covering 4.2 hectares. It is home to over 100 species of tropical and fresh water fish.

Sumida Aquarium, Japan
The Tokyo Skytree tower houses the Sumida Aquarium. It holds the largest open indoor tank in Japan, which is home to dozens of playful penguins and a number of fur seals. With various other visually stunning themed tanks and areas, Sumida Aquarium is more like an art exhibition than a marine life park!

Aquaria KLCC, Malaysia
Aquaria KLCC in Kuala Lumpur houses over 250 different species, and over 5000 individual land and aquatic animals from around the world. Based on the journey of water from the land to the sea, you begin your visit in the misty highlands before travelling down through rivers, tropical rainforests and mangroves, to the coral reefs, and into the deep blue sea.

Coex Aquarium, South Korea
This aquarium showcases more than a whopping 40,000 sea creatures from a selection of 600 different species. Similar to Aquaria KLCC, upon entry, visitors will embark on an adventure that follows the journey of water, from the high mountains, down to the Amazon tropical rainforest, through swamps, rivers, seashores, and finally to the depths of the ocean.

If you’re an animal lover but are a little tired of visiting zoos and wildlife parks, taking a trip to an aquarium makes for a perfect alternative, especially since most aquariums these days are entirely air-conditioned. Calming, quiet and softly lit in shades of blue, there is just something magical about stepping into an aquarium and moving from exhibition to exhibition to observe aquatic creatures meandering about and occasionally interacting with each other.
