Over the last 20 years, Sens Asia Travel has provided travelers with unique experiences that offer exclusive insight into destinations across Asia. Each experience is enhanced through our five senses: Scent (smell), Sight, Sound, Touch, Taste and Heart (giving back). Sens Asia has recently introduced its first full immersion package for Laos, named “Get to Know the Locals”, through a 3D/2N Luang Prabang experience where travelers will be paired with local families for the full authentic experience that includes ancient customs and traditions like Tak Bat.

Through an up-close view of the city’s scents, sights, sounds, and splendors, travelers will immerse themselves into Laos and its culture. The three-day Laotian experience is designed with experiential touchpoints to see, smell, hear, feel, and taste one of Asia’s most attractive UNESCO World Heritage sites, and also breathe in the surrounding natural landscapes from carefully selected viewpoints to create a journey as inspiring as the destination itself.

Visitors can experience ancient Buddhist rituals and traditions in Laos with immersive experiences offered by Sens Asia Travel.

For decades, the Tak Bat ritual has been an important cultural and religious event for the local people in Luang Prabang. Tak Bat is the Buddhist monks daily morning routine where they walk the streets of Laos and locals offer prayers and place flowers or food in their bowls. Upsurge of tourism in Laos has increasingly endangered the ceremony due to misunderstandings. Sens Asia combines sustainability, environmentally-friendly and a community-centered approach to tourism to reignite a sense of wonder, curiosity and discovery. By educating travelers on how important the Tak Bat ritual is to local people, Sens Asia contributes to preserving this beautiful cultural event.

Travelers will also have the opportunity to participate in traditional Hmong Batik classes, take part in a friendly game of Petanque, enjoy a traditional dance show, and experience a Garavek performance – the stage interpretation of the esoteric Laotian art of storytelling. At the morning and night markets, travelers can explore various textiles, locally sourced products and enjoy the Laotian street foods with locals. A Laotian cooking lesson is also available for travelers who are fond of the local cuisine.

“We invite travelers to not only explore a new destination, but also give them the chance to reconnect with themselves and delve deeper into travel experiences with a sense of local authenticity. Some visitors may be familiar with Luang Prabang, but our itinerary is designed to offer deeper insights into the culture by awakening the five senses through the local people they meet,” according to Linh Bui, managing director of Sens Asia Travel.
