Singaporeans currently hold the 2nd most powerful passport in the world

This also makes us the highest ranked Asian passport!

Needless to say, it is clear that not all passports are created equal. Arton Capital has just released its annual Passport Index list, which values the power of every passport based on how many countries that can be visited without applying for a visa. The results? Well, if you’re a Singaporean citizen, here’s good news: we are officially holding on to the world’s second-most powerful passport! With visa-free entry into 156 countries, that’s definitely a lot of countries we get to include in our travel bucket list without the hassle of acquiring a visa.

For the third year running, Germany tops the list at 157 countries – just one more higher than both Singapore and Sweden. Singapore shares second place with Sweden, moving up a rank from last year’s index and also overtaking South Korea as the highest ranked Asian passport! The ‘least powerful’ passports to own are from Iraq, Pakistan, and Afghanistan at 23, 26 and 28 countries respectively.
