Sneak Peek: MAC to release Selena Quintanilla collection

Mark your calendars as this long-awaited collection will be making its debut soon.
It all started out with a fan’s petition on change.org, and the rest is history. MAC has decided to release a collection inspired and in honour of the late Selena Quintanilla. It has been 20 years since the Latin singer’s tragic death, but the artist continues to live in the hearts of many, especially with her music, beauty and iconic fashion sense.
The Selena inspired MAC collection will debut in the latter part of 2016 and while major details are still under wraps, the brand has released the first campaign shot for the collection. Part of the collection includes a red lipstick in the shade Como la Flor. Fans of the singer will know this as the name of her biggest hit single.
True to her style, the red lipstick is symbolic of her classic red pout. When you think of Selena, a picture of a naturally polished canvas with a bold red pout comes to mind. The signature brick red lipstick is versatile and can be used with a variety of looks from smokey eyes to a subtle winged liner. When using a lip shade of this nature, it is important to exfoliate your lips and prep it with balm. This ensures that no pigment sinks into the lines of your lips and gives the shade an extra pop.
While the lipstick has got us excited, we cannot wait to see what else the collection will consist of. Perhaps the brand might draw inspiration from the singer’s brow style and release a brow kit. For now, we are all ready to add this lipstick to our cart when it makes its way to Singapore.
