Everybody loves a selfie! Often, the final picture is a result of 50 odd photos – from switching the flash on to trying different angles, we all have our ways of getting that right snap. Selfie-ready makeup is a trend right now and is often described to be an updated version of the “no-makeup-makeup” look and we are decoding it step by step.

HIGHLIGHT THOSE FEATURES

While the lighting of your environment is key for a good photo, drawing light to the right features is equally as important. Using either a cream, powder or liquid highlighter, apply the product to your brow bone, top of cheek bones, bridge of your nose and cupid’s bow. Blend well into your skin and you’ll be all ready to glow.

A TOUCH OF COLOUR

When it comes to selfie-ready makeup, less is more. Give your cheeks a natural touch of colour by using either a cream or powder blush. These formulas are packed with pigmentation and can be built up gradually. Our trick is to use either a duo-fibre stippling brush or use your ring finger to pat the colour onto your cheeks. This controls the colour payoff and still looks natural for a selfie.

LET YOUR BROWS DO THE TALKING

Your eyebrows frame your face and the selfie. Skip overdrawing your brows or filling them in heavily. Instead opt for a naturally defined eyebrow look. Follow the shape of your natural brows and fill them in using powder as that will appear less harsh in your selfies.

Add these three steps to your current routine and you’ll find yourself skipping the option of using a filter in your next upload.

Now head over to the gallery up top for a round up of selfie-ready beauty products to own in your stash. You’ll be perfecting your selfies within seconds!
