How to get Meghan Markle’s radiant skin and signature locks

P.S. They’re royally easy.

Meghan Markle: Her Best Beauty Looks

The Internet is in somewhat of a (gooey) meltdown, since news broke of actress Meghan Markle’s engagement to Prince Harry (finally!). We’ve been fans of the Suits actress long before her relationship to the long-time playboy became the subject of intense media interest.

In Suits, Meghan plays Rachel Zane, an ambitious, no-nonsense, but incidentally also incredibly attractive paralegal, who pretty much quickly became everyone’s chic office wear and beauty muse overnight. In a past interview with Birchbox, Meghan shared some of her beauty tips that she swears by for that signature luscious brunette locks and radiant complexion. You know you’re curious, so read on!

#1 Makeup that does not mask her freckles

While the Suits actress loves radiant skin, she’s not a huge fan of makeup that masks the skin. “Only apply foundation to the spots you need it,” she shares, “and spread it with a beautyblender”. The freckled beauty, who is outspoken about her love for freckles, says, “I never want to cover my freckles, so we just do a ‘wash’ of foundation in certain sections instead of over the entire face.”

#2 Her secret to a sculpted face? Facial exercises

Facial exercises essentially work out specific muscles of the face to tone and lift targeted areas. She shares that she gets facial exercises from her favourite aesthetician, Nicola Joss, who “… basically has you sculpt your face from the inside out,” adding that her “cheekbones and jawline are (far) more sculpted” on the days she practices.

#3 Highlight on the inner corner of the eye

It’s no secret that television actors work insane schedules. Meghan’s trick to delude people into thinking she’s had a full night’s sleep is to “apply a highlighter like Yves Saint Laurent’s Touche Eclat in the inner corner (of the eye)”.

#4 Tame flyaways with a toothbrush

Meghan is perhaps best known for her signature well-groomed, luscious locks in suits – and it looks like she’s got quite a few nifty tricks to achieve that. She sprays hairspray on a small boar bristle toothbrush to “lightly brush them down or smooth the hairline”, which she admits comes in handy when she’s going for a quick, sleek bun off-camera.

#5 For enviable volume, flip your hair

To get that a voluminous mane that even Rachel Zane would envy, the actress swears by a good ol’ hair flip. “When my hair is feeling a little weighted, Suanne, my hair artist on (Suits), has me bend forward and she sprays a little Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray or nothing at all, and then has me flip back hard to give my hair a little extra bounce,” she shares.
