Old Hollywood glam: How to get Adele’s signature beauty look?
Adele’s look has a vintage feel to it and here we’ve decoded her makeup look step by step.
When you mention Adele, the visual of a soulful singer with those signature black cat-lined eyes come to mind. There is no doubt that Adele exudes the old Hollywood glam vibe. She pulls off the bold cat eye paired with dewy skin to the T. If you have been addicted to her latest video, ‘Hello’ like us, you would have noticed that her makeup looks phenomenal. Here is how you can recreate the look in under 10 minutes.
STEP 1: MOISTURIZE
Adele’s skin looks beyond flawless and you can mimic that by first creating a well moisturized base. By applying a moisturizer of your choice, you are creating a tacky base for the makeup products to adhere to. Do not forget to hydrate your under eye area with an eye cream or serum. Adele’s signature look involves a bold cat eye liner and we would not want your eye area to look dehydrated.
STEP 2: APPLY A DEWY FOUNDATION
Give your matte bases a rest and whip out a dewy foundation. You can create a dewy version by mixing 2 parts of your usual foundation with 1 part of moisturizer. Apply the product to your face focusing on your cheeks, forehead, chin and blend outwards. Set your foundation with a light layer of powder to lock the makeup in place
STEP 3: GROOM YOUR BROWS
Adele’s brows are one of her strongest facial features. They are always well groomed and on point. Mimic that by combing through your brow hairs and filling them in with a brow product of your choice. We would recommend a brow pencil for added definition and finishing off with a brow mascara.
STEP 4: DEFINE YOUR CREASE
The singer does not go for much colour on her lids but defines her crease with a taupe or brown shadow to accentuate her eye shade. Simple run a fluffy blending brush along your crease line to add some definition
STEP 5: CREATE A BOLD CAT LINER
This is the most important part of her look – the liner. We would recommend using a liquid liner for the best effect. Start by drawing a thin line following the natural shape of your eye. Once you are satisfied with the basic shape, add a flick at the end and define the line further. To ease the process, slightly tilt your head backwards while drawing the liner.
STEP 6: ADD LASHES
The look will not be complete without lashes. Add a pair of falsies to your eyes and coat them with mascara. Easy peasy.
STEP 7: FINISH OFF WITH A DUSTY ROSE LIP COLOUR
It is time to bring out the nudes and dusty rose lip colours from your makeup stash. Adele prefers to go light on her lips when she is rocking the bold liner look. Lightly dab the colour on your lips and you are good to go.
