Say goodbye to cakey makeup for good with these easy fixes.

Ever been in a situation where you feel like your makeup seems cakey but you are unsure of what to do? Fret not, with these 3 tips you will able to fix any cakey makeup situation easily anytime, anyday.

BLOT YOUR FACE

Chances are cakey makeup might result from the over production of oil making you appear shiny. For starters, blot your face (irregardless of your skin being dry, oily or combination of both). This helps to remove the top layer of shine and allows you to fix the cakey makeup situation better.

MIST AWAY

Products such as M.A.C Fix Plus or Urbran Decay B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray are great tools to have in your makeup bag. Even though the products come in fairly tall bottles, you could easily transfer them into travel size spray bottles. If your makeup is appearing cakey, simply mist your face with these product and re-blend gently using a sponge. It is advisable to use light patting motions when blending to distribute the product evenly. The sponge is also able to pick up any excess product.

RE-TOUCH

The first signs of cracking can be seen under the eyes in the form of your concealer creasing or around your laugh lines. Given that the skin around the area is delicate and rather thin, we would recommend removing any product build up with a makeup wipe. Gently remove your concealer or excess foundation by wrapping the tip of the makeup wipe around your index finger. This provides great support. Following which, light apply a thin layer of concealer and blend away. It is also handy to have Q-tips in your makeup bag to remove any stubborn build up.

The key to solving cakey makeup isn’t to add more but to re-blend and remove whatever is on your face already. Adding more makeup like powder foundations may temporarily solve the situation but may clog your pores further and make the canvas appear more cakey.
