5 Nifty ways to make use of your Q-tips

If you’re looking for other ways to make use of cotton swabs or Q-tips, then look no further as we round up some brilliant ideas.

Q-tips or cotton swabs are such life savers when it comes to our beauty routines. Many know the basic beauty hacks using a Q-tip revolve around cleaning up smudges or removing makeup. Well, we’re are going to take it up a notch and show you how this handy tool can be used for 5 more beauty hacks.

CREATING A SUBTLE SMOKEY EYE

Yes you read it right. You can create a subtle smokey eye with just a Q-tip. Start off by using either a gel eyeliner or kajal and draw a thick line across your eyelid. It does not have to be the most perfect of cat eyes. Following which, use a Q-tip to smudge the line upwards. For an intense effect, use flicking motions but remember to blend with your fingers. A simple smokey eye has been created. To clean up any edges, simply use a clean Q-tip and apply minimal pressure.

ZIT NO MORE

Hide those pesky zits with the help of concealer and a Q-tip. The Q-tip is a good substitute for a pointed brush. Use one end of the Q-tip to apply the concealer, blend using your fingers and use the other end to apply loose powder. This ensures that your concealer stays in place for longer.

CLEAN UP NAIL SMUDGES

Dip the Q-tip into some nail polish remover and soak it well. Clean up your stained cuticles using the Q-tip to create a perfectly done manicure.

ACCENTUATE FEATURES

Accentuate your features with the use of a Q-tip. If you would like to draw attention to your nose and make it appear slimmer, use one end of the Q-tip to apply concealer 2-3 shades darker and another end to apply a light foundation. Alternate between using a clean Q-tip and your fingers to create a seamless finish. How’s that for a quick nose job done in less than 2 minutes?

FIX LIPSTICK SMUDGES

Applied lipliner and a heavily pigmented lipstick only to find that it is looking like a hot mess? Instead of going in with concealer immediately, clean up any smudges using a Q tip. Apply pressure and drag the Q-tip along the natural shape of your lips to pick up any product. This helps to create a defined line as well. Once you’re done, apply concealer and blend away for the perfect pout.

We are sure that Q-tips will continue to be a part of our makeup staples for years to come as we continue to discover even more beauty hacks with this wonderful creation.
