Switch up the typical coat of clear polish with the perfect nude hues for your skin tone.

Treat your nail colour like how you would do for your lips. The common factor here is that they both have to flatter your skin tone, so whatever looks good on your lips is likely to look just as stunning on your fingertips. Oh and the days of matching your nails to your lips that you thought were long gone? Well they’re making an understated comeback.

That said, colourful hues for your nails can be difficult to pull off with your ever-changing wardrobe day in and day, and may sometimes look dated. So for days you want a classy finish that’s great for any occasion and matches any outfit, don’t steer too safely towards boring clear polish. Instead nude nail colours will give you a natural but polished look that won’t look out of place anywhere – be it for the office, a dinner or on the weekends. A rule of thumb (pun intended) is that subtle colours can get away with being on longer fingernails, while dark vampy shades should be kept for trimmed nails.
