Are rubber masks the next big thing in skincare?

We are loving how these masks help to keep our skin looking bright and soft.

The Korean beauty industry is known best for revolutionizing the world of makeup and skincare with its unique products – from BB cushions to snail masks. The next beauty activity that has grown in popularity has to be masking. There are so many masks out there that it is time to add yet another mask to the list – rubber masks.

Yes, as the name suggests the mask dries to a rubber-like texture on your face which can then be easily peeled off after 10-15 minutes.

WHAT IS IT?

Think of rubber mask as an upgrade from your regular paper sheet masks or even clay masks. Rubber masks often come in a powder form. Mix equal parts powder and water till you form a smooth texture. Apply it to your face and let it set to a rubber finish.

HOW DOES THE TRANSFORMATION HAPPEN?

Trust the Korean beauty industry to make use of amazing natural ingredients when coming up with a new trend. The magic ingredient is known as alginate. This is found in extracts of kelp also known to the common man as seaweed. When mixed with water, kelp helps to create a gelatin-thick mask which can be layered easily on the face.

WHAT CAN RUBBER MASKS DO FOR MY SKIN?

Rubber masks can be easily peeled off. The action of peeling the mask off helps to lift any dead skin layers and gunk on the skin. This includes whiteheads and blackheads. Continual use of these masks once a week helps to not only keep your skin looking bright but hydrates it as well.

We are loving how easy these masks are to use. A tip would be to mix the concoction well enough to achieve a thick consistency. This makes it easier to layer the mask on the face without it dripping.

Excited to try this trend? This is a relatively new trend and we are sure that more companies will be hopping on the bandwagon with their own rubber masks versions soon.
