With lipsticks, it has to be long-lasting, matte, pigmented but hydrating as to prevent the fragile lips from cracking. The tip that most stewardesses use to prevent lipstick from getting onto their teeth is to use the thumb sucking method (sucking on the thumb to get rid of the excessive lipstick) or, the traditional method of blotting.

In drier cabin conditions, the lips tend to crack resulting it to bleed.
