It is time to include this wonder fruit not only in your smoothies but in your skincare routine with our tips and tricks.

When we think of papaya, we think of a rich delicious fruit with a buttery consistency. But did you know that this fruit has a lot of hidden benefits -particularly beauty?

It is not just the flesh of the fruit but parts of it that are beneficial as well. Papaya is rich in an enzyme known as Papain. This rejuvenating enzyme serves as a great skin exfoliate. When used regularly, it improves the complexion of the skin to yield glowing skin.

Known as nature’s wholesome fruit, papaya also has a higher content of Carotene as compared to other fruits like apples and guavas. Due to its low sodium quality, eating or using a papaya as a nourishing skin treat retains very little water. This enables the skin to remain hydrated and supple – perfect for those with drier skin types.

HOW TO USE

Simply scrap the fruit flesh and use an appropriate amount or store it in an air-tight container for later use (you can store the fruit for 3-4 days in your refrigerator). On average, 2 to 3 tablespoons of the fruit is sufficient to cover the entire face. As the papaya is an acidic fruit, we would recommend to not let the fruit sit on your face for more than 5 minutes as that might lead to dryness and unwanted skin irritation. As with any natural remedy or new skin product, always do a patch test on your hand to assess if the ingredient is suitable for your skin.
