We gave Etude House’s latest collagen-infused skincare range a whirl, before the nasty lines and sagging skin begin to surface!

Typically, when you’re in your early twenties, it feels like you’ve got the world by the strings – beauty-wise – but this is actually the period where your face, unfortunately for some, starts to witness signs of aging. Also, no matter what we do, our skin is at the mercy of nature’s and society’s unforgiving hands – especially when we’re constantly having to battle with the sun’s harmful rays or the temptations of an unhealthy lifestyle.

The Korean beauty giant, Etude House has seemingly come up with a range of products to slow down the aging process and allow you to bask in a youthful appearance for far longer. With their Moistfull Super Collagen series that boasts of three Super Collagen-infused products, there might just be some light at the end of the tunnel after all.

How does it work:

The products are enriched with the brand’s specially formulated anti-aging ingredient, Super Collagen alongside the Baobab tree extract to aid in firmness, elasticity and hydration.

Moistfull Super Collagen Ampoule Essence (approx. USD27 for 100ml):

The first step to firmer and supple skin would begin with this ampoule essence that contains 90% of the Super Collagen. After toning, dispense a small amount and gently massage the clear yet semi jelly-like consistency all over your face. You’ll find that absorption is fairly quick to result in an immediately smoother and soft complexion. In addition, my face felt relatively taut and hydrated.

Moistfull Super Collagen Multi Stick (approx. USD25):

Now this little nifty product is interesting just from the name itself. Who knew you could get collagen from a stick? In any case, this little product is a handy collagen balm that you can apply at any time throughout the day – even over your makeup. Basically, this felt like I was applying a transparent veil on my face for additional hydration – just like lip balms do. When you have makeup on, instead of rubbing it furiously all over your face, do it in small motions with a light hand in order to not smear your makeup or cause unnecessary streaks.

While I didn’t notice an immediate effect upon first use, multiple uses did result in a noticeably firmer complexion.

Moistfull Super Collagen Cream (approx. USD27):

As the last step in the process, take the spatula that comes with the cream and scoop out a small amount. The luxuriously thick consistency and a tad oily texture of the cream was surprising initially but you’ll find that upon application, the skin absorbs it to a soft dewy finish, that is not greasy or sticky to the touch. The cream contains 60% of the Super Collagen and I must say that I noticed my skin becoming more supple and ‘bouncy’, if you will, with every use.

Our Verdict:

While I personally do not think I require a regular collagen ‘treatment’ so to speak, I was pleasantly satisfied with the results of the series after using it for a week and a half. I couldn’t say much about whether there was any noticeable reduction in fine lines or wrinkles but the series could essentially be seen as a preventive rather than restorative solution for me, personally. The range is suitable for any skin type because even though the cream and the essence is a little slick in terms of consistency, they absorb quickly without any sticky residue. Honestly, the best part of this series is the immediate soft, supple and firming effect that feels like you’ve just gotten botox but without the scary needles. I’d recommend this to anyone who’s looking to reduce or prevent some of the natural effects of aging – it’s better now than later!
