Everyone’s favourite drugstore skincare brand has come up with a range of all-in products for those of us who are pressed for time. Here’s our take on how they fared.

If you weren’t already aware, we’re here to break it to you: A flawless makeup application starts with great skin. Often, we are so concerned with our makeup techniques that we ignore or forget that the first step to our outer beauty is taking care of our fragile skin. Wearing makeup for extended periods of time and improper removal can take its toll on the skin. Nivea has created two new products that target those of us who love wearing makeup, and want the least maintenance when it comes to our skin – the 3 in 1 Make Up Starter range. We let you know in the reviews below if they’ve fared well.

3 in 1 Moisturizing Serum SPF 33+++

I’ve come to love this product after realising how lightweight it feels on the skin and the convenience of the packaging. The formula itself is very thin and absorbs quickly without leaving much residue, which is great for a product that has SPF in it. Which also brings me to another reason why I keep going back to it – the sun-protecting properties infused in the serum means that you can do away with a separate sunscreen and just go straight into this after cleansing and toning the skin. The only thing I dislike is the fragrance, which is typical of most Nivea skincare products. The fact that it comes in a slim squeeze tube makes it really easy for carrying around throughout the day for reapplication.

3 in 1 Moisturizing Night Serum

I wish I could convey the same adoration for this one as I did for its daytime counterpart, but I didn’t enjoy using this product. It smells similar to the day serum, except a lot stronger, which is a downer for me. It’s also slightly drying, as I feel my skin feeling a bit tight once it has fully absorbed. I have a combination skin type, so I think this product would work better for those whose skin is on the oilier side.

Overall, the range is a great innovation for those who don’t have the luxury of time to go through a 10-step skincare process. The low price point also means you can try it out for yourself and if it doesn’t work for you, it won’t feel like too much of a pinch in your pocket.
