When it comes to choosing a makeup base suitable for Singapore’s humid climate, we are always on the lookout for lightweight products that not only give us coverage but are also able to sustain the test of weather throughout the day. The usual base routine begins with prepping the skin with moisturiser, followed by using a primer. The process continues with using foundation and concealer. What if we told you that this routine can be reduced to just one product?
That’s right! L’Oréal has introduced an all new 4-in-1 product as part of its True Match range. Known as the L’Oréal True Match Genius 4-in-1 Compact Foundation, this product promises to not only act as a primer but provide the coverage of a foundation and concealer. Once it sets, it has the finish of a powder.
Once you have cleansed your skin, apply this product by using the sponge applicator provided. It picks up the right amount of product and you will be able to distribute it evenly across your face.
OUR VERDICT:
This product lives up to its claims of being a 4-in-1 product. Though it does not give sufficiently opaque coverage like a high-end concealer, it does help to even out the overall skin tone and neutralise any forms of redness or sallowness. As a primer, it does a good job at controlling shine and making the appearance of your face appear smooth. This is perhaps one of the reasons why layering this product does not lead to a caked-up appearance.
For those who struggle with spots or blemishes with texture, we recommend layering more product and blending with your fingers followed by the sponge to allow the product to set. Although this is targeted for all skin types, oilier skin types should set their T-zones with a little setting powder to help control shine.
