Natural complexion with a hint of mystery forms the core of Burberry’s beauty look this Fall. Here’s how you can emulate the Bloomsbury girl to a T.

As a collective of writers, artists, painters, the Bloomsbury girls exuded an air of insouciance as they flitted about their daily lives creating beautiful imagery based off a vast imaginative faculty. It is no wonder that Burberry took inspiration from the group to construct the free-spirited soul of their Fall 2014 collection – who wouldn’t?

Referencing the collection, the makeup looks on the runway followed suit. Complexions were kept minimal to a satin-matte finish with a light flush, while eyes were painted with a wash of damson and aubergine shades to reflect the artist’s brush strokes. Lashes were left bare with naturally groomed brows and lips were kept to a natural soft pink. All in all, the looks were simple and yet delivered a certain alluring and elusive mood.

By using some of the Burberry Beauty products, here’s  a step by step guide to emulate the Bloomsbury girls and their fresh and unfettered look:

EYES

• Keep lashes bare for a modern feel.

• Apply the deepest shade from the new Complete Eye Palette, Nude Blush No.12, to the eyelid, blending upwards to the crease line. Intensify the colour closer to the lash line.

• Use your fingertips to apply a little Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in Nude Radiance No.01 over the top of the eyelid to open up and brighten the eye area.

• Blend Antique Rose from the new Complete Eye Palette, Nude Blush No.12 softly underneath the eye – to add shadows and depth.

• Apply Effortless Kohl in Stone No.03 to the inner rim of the eye.

SKIN

• Apply Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in Golden Radiance No.02 to the face like a moisturiser to create a light sun-kissed look.

• Use Sheer Concealer to highlight (paler yellow shades) the face – on the forehead, nose, Cupid’s bow, chin, and under eyes (rose-toned shades) to diminish dark circles. Use a mix of the two shades to even the complexion.

• Apply Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in Nude Radiance No.01 to create a fresh even complexion, beginning application at the centre of the face, blending out towards the edge of the face. Blend well around the jaw-line to give a natural look.

• When the base is even, set the look and minimise shine with a light dusting of Sheer Powder, focusing on the T-zone.

LIPS

• Softly tone down the natural lip colour with a little of the foundation.

• Apply Lip Cover in Tulip Pink No.27 to the lips, pressing in with fingertips for a natural look.

NAILS

• Coat nails with Nail Polish in Elderberry No.407.
