Heading out on a wild night this coming weekend? Step out in style with Atelier Versace’s bold Spring 2015 eye makeup look.

Atelier Versace’s fashion-forward Spring 2015 makeup look has us going gaga with its modern interpretation of winged eyeliner. For a bold and graphic effect, celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath devised a plan that included exaggerated wings which extended out towards the eyebrow and in towards the nose. Frankly, we think the look is fun, fashionable and totally wearable – for a night out, that is.

To recreate the look, start with the eyes. This way, you can easily clean up any fall-out that may occur once you go in with the dark eyeshadow. To create the crisp winged liner, you’ll need some stationary tape. Stick the tape to the back of your hand before applying it to the face – this will make it easy to remove without tugging on the skin. Place it from the outer corner of the eye in the direction of your eyebrow. Sweep a neutral colour all over your lids as a base. Create the desired black crease line by using a tapered pencil brush and some black eyeliner. This will allow you to take the shape as far inwards as you like. Darken up the line by reapplying the shadow until you achieve the desired effect.

Next, tap on some black eyeshadow to the outer corner of the eyes – just next to the tape. Apply a generous amount and once done, use a blending brush to sweep the product in. This will create a gradient effect that is to die for. Once the product is completely blended, simply line the top eyelash line with the same black eyeshadow and remove the tape. Bring the black eyeshadow down from the outer corner and onto your lower lash line – blend all the way inwards. Finish by highlighting the eyes using a stark white eyeliner in the waterline and in the inner corners of your eyes – it’ll make a world of difference.

Clean up the fall-out with a wet makeup wipe or Q-tip, you can then apply a thin layer of foundation or BB cream. Because the eyes are so dramatic, keep the rest of your face as natural as possible. Hence, to complete the runway-ready package, keep the lips au-natural with a nude lipstick and a clear or nude gloss.

We don’t know about you, but we can’t wait till Friday to wear this explosive makeup look for a night out with our girls!
