FOTD: Lucy Liu at the Hamilton Broadway Opening Night
updated the 6 October 2015 à 22:53Find out how you can recreate the former Charlie’s Angel’s timeless makeup look with just a few drugstore products.
The highly-raved Broadway Musical Hamilton held its opening night last week in New York and gave us much to ogle over during its star-studded arrivals. Celebrities in attendance included Laverne Cox, award-winning actress Susan Sarandon, The View co-host Raven Symone and Lucy Liu, among others.
The former Charlie’s Angel stood out for us this week, looking ageless in a matching coat-and-dress Monique Lhullier look from Resort 2016. Her elegant fresh faced makeup complimented the classy daytime ensemble perfectly, so we had to find out how to recreate the look.
Let your inner glow shine through by applying a sheer layer of cream foundation with a stippling brush to the areas that need it – namely for evening out the skin tone or lightly concealing blemishes that may appear. We love how Lucy’s freckles come through, making her look youthful despite nearing the big 5-0 (has it really been that long since Charlie’s Angels?).
Move on to the brows with a double-ended brow pencil for a light, natural frame to the face. The eyes are then lined close to the top water line and finished with lashings of mascara, topped off with a pair of natural-looking false lashes. Add some colour to the cheeks and lips with a creamy colour stick, and you’re done.
Bring your hair up in a sleek ponytail, and add the defining finishing touch: a pair of diamond studs.
