This Harry Potter star is launching a vegan & cruelty-free beauty subscription box

We loved her as the quirky and endearing Luna Lovegood, but Harry Potter star Evanna Lynch is now launching her own cruelty free beauty box.

We loved her as Luna Lovegood, and we still love her now. Evanna Lynch, known for playing radish earring-wearing, The Quibbler-obsessed Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter franchise, is going to be launching a cruelty-free beauty subscription box later this year!

Despite remaining fairly low-key in all other respects, Lynch is a very passionate advocate of animal rights and a proud vegan who hosts a podcast called The Chickpeeps, which “explore(s), discuss(es) and unpick(s) the dilemmas faced by vegans in our quest to be more compassionate towards animals”. She’s also a big makeup fan, which is the main drive behind her launch.

Announcing on her Instagram that although makeup and animals are two of her favourite things, she is “trying to change” the way they intersect; namely, in the way that animals are often used to test developing makeup products.

Earlier in April, Lynch teamed up with PETA for a project which documented the horrors faced by animals that are tested on by the beauty industry. In the video, titled “Make-Up Tutorial Video with a Bit of a Twist“, Lynch explained how cruelty-free makeup is still sometimes tested on animals.

Get this: she even “went under” the same tests that animals living in a lab undergo – like having faux skin-burning chemicals smeared on her face, and being “force-fed” a sludge-like substance.

Lynch has also revealed that the project will be a collaboration with a fairly under-the-radar brand, so watch this space for more updates!
