Instead of shying away from what your real age is, Lancome’s latest campaign is encouraging women to embrace and be proud of that number.

Sometimes age is not just a number, especially in the beauty and fashion industry where ageism is a fairly hot topic. So while various brands have sought to nip the problem in the bud by embracing older models in their campaigns, Lancome took it a step further by having models or rather ambassadors of all ages – from their 20s, 30s, to 40s – with the latest #LoveYourAge campaign.

The beauty giant first teased the campaign by publishing solo images of four beautiful individuals, Lupita Nyong’o, Lilly Collins, Kate Winslet, and Penelope Cruz, on Instagram. After which a collage of the four were posted with their respective ages marked in ‘years young’ rather than the typical ‘years old’, showing that there’s no need to feel old.

Created as a way to market their Advanced Génifique serum that’s targeted towards women with any skin type and of any age, the campaign is a beautiful example of how anti aging beauty products need not be specifically reserved for any one age group. Or be touted as miracle products.

So instead of worrying about turning a year older every time your birthday swings around, celebrate the natural and beautiful process of aging because glowing skin ultimately comes from within.
