Scent-sational: Miu Miu unveils their very first fragrance

Miu Miu kicked off the festivities in Paris with the reveal of their debut fragrance in true sartorial style.

Miu Miu

Over the weekend, the who’s who of the fashion conglomerate descended onto Paris for Miu Miu’s launch of their very first fragrance and boy was it one celebratory bash at The Miu Miu Club. From Kate Moss to Amber Heard, Elizabeth Olsen and Kiernan Shipka, everyone was present to witness the grand unveiling.

Concocted by Danielle Roche Andrier, the inaugural perfume includes beautiful notes of lily of the valley flowers, jasmine, rose absolute and green notes, as well as a unique ingredient, akigalawood. Akigalawood carries a scent that’s similar to that of patchouli oil and essentially contributes to the pepperish and spicy body of the fragrance. Poured into a decorative light blue glass flacon with gold and red caps, which Prada was involved in designing, the bottle was brilliantly inspired by the stunning Miu Miu matelassé bag.

“We wanted it to be unique, youthful, colourful and sophisticated,” said Caroline Javoy, Group Vice President of Marketing for the label at Coty Inc of the scent.

As for the campaign star, French-English actress, Stacy Martin holds that honour in the debut promotional shoot, lensed by the legendary, Steven Meisel. Noting that Miuccia Prada wanted to juxtapose the provocative and attractive elements of Miu Miu, Stacy Martin simply ticks all the right boxes in all the right areas.

Honestly, all we’re waiting to do now is to catch a whiff of the scent once it hits a shelf near us!

Miu Miu The First Fragrance will hit Harrods in the UK in August and launch worldwide in September.
