Charitable Celebs: Top 10 celebs who use their fame for good

We all wish we could do more for charities around the world. The world isn’t perfect, and a lot of things need serious fixing. Thankfully there are those who’re using their immense fame and wealth for good and these are none other than celebrities we’re so used to seeing on the screen.

People like, Beyoncé, Laverne Cox and Angelina Jolie are selflessly and humbly using their wealth and influence to make the world a better place one step at a time. Misha Collins, a star on the very popular and long-running TV show, Supernatural, has an award from the Guinness Book of World Records for the work he did on his charity GISHWHES (Greatest International Scavenger Hunt The World Has Ever Seen).

And even though the rest of these celebrities don’t have awards from the Guinness Book of World Records, it doesn’t mean their work is any less recognized, because we definitely are inspired and grateful for the good they are doing. We should all draw inspiration from them, try to walk in their footsteps and make our own small waves of change too.

After all, a small step in the right direction is all it takes to create a ripple.

The foundation helps homeless youths, a lot of them who are LGBT+ and sexual assault victims. It aims to help them find safety and abolish the stigma against them.

Beyoncé very proudly proclaimed herself a feminist during the 2014 MTV VMAs, with an impactful and powerful performance that saw the word flashing high above in big, bold letters.
She also has her own foundation. The BeyGOOD foundation that strives for many things, like gender equality, no poverty, quality education and clean water, among many other goals.
Beyoncé also supports pediatric care in Haiti, which is still suffering from the aftermath of the earthquake that left it more unstable than ever.

Emma Watson launched her HeForShe Campaign at the United Nations last year. The former child star, is as compassionate and intelligent as she is beautiful. By launching the HeForShe campaign, that impacted many people and gathered massive support, Watson showed exactly how she was pushing gender equality forward.
While it supports the gender binary, it is still a big step in bringing feminism into the modern times, and keeping it relevant.

Misha Collins from Supernatural, created the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen (GISHWHES for short), and he got an award from the Guinness Book of Records for it.
In 2009, he also founded Random Acts, a foundation that aims to make people's days a little better with small, random acts of kindness.

As a transwoman, Laverne should know how it feels to feel like to have people against her, and bullying her for being different and feeling like there is something not normal about herself. In addition to the talk she gave at the Global Citizen Festival, she also raised USD1.6 million for Broadway Bares, that raises money for essential services for people with AIDS and other critical illnesses.
