Chris opened the night with a pithy reaction to the #OscarsSoWhite controversy—"Well, I'm here at the Academy Awards, also known as the White People's Choice Awards." Well, he eventually moved on by saying, "I thought about quitting," over the absence of black acting nominees. "But why is it always people who don't have a job who tell you you should quit?"
What were the odds?

Mark Rylance
Among fellow ambitious nominees Tom Hardy, The Revenant and Mark Raffulo, Spotflight, Mark Rylance, Bridge Of Spies is certainly deserving of his big win.
Can you tell his Scottish accent though?

Inside Out
*Cues awwww*— from both adults and children alike. Inside Out, Pixar's emotional coming-of-age drama reduced even the toughest critics to tears, and we are thrilled it won Best Animated Feature Film.

It wasn't surprising, after all.

Girl Scouts Cookies
Chris Rock helped his daughters to sell Girl Scout cookies—at the Oscars. The reason behind it? The workaholic dad has been spending too much time at work and he "has missed most of Girl Scout cookie season." The response? From Kate Winslet purchase which appears to be a box of Peanut Patties to John Legend, Rock announced later on that they've raised $65,243.

Good call, Chris.

Brie Larson
The best actress category is so strong this year, but we're inclined to say that it's hard to imagine anyone but Brie Larson winning from Room. However, there was a lot of support and love for Saoirse Ronan in Brooklyn too.
Ours still on Larson, and she nailed it!

Lady Gaga
Lady Gag brought Oscars attendees to their feet when she brought sexual assault survivors to stage while she performed "Till It Happens To You."
Though the song lost to Sam Smith's Writings on the Wall—much to our surprise—we were genuinely moved by the only standing ovation of the night. It was a raw, touching moment as Gaga herself was a rape victim.

Jacob Tremblay
We were all charmed by the young talent's acting in Room, and couldn't get over his cutest reaction when Star Wars' C-3PO, r2-d2 and Bb-8 made a surprise appearance to give a nod to music composer John Williams.

And not forgetting him wearing the Star Wars socks to match his mini suit. How cute.

Leonardo DiCaprio
Finally! Congrats Leo! Winning best actor this year in The Revenant, he also calls for action for climate change during his acceptance speech. "Making The Revenant was about man's relationship to the natural world. Climate change is real, it's happening right now, it is the most urgent threat facing our entire species. We need to stop procrastinating, we need to support people who speak for all of humanity, for the indigenous peoples, for our children's children, let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take tonight for granted."

Aww, Leo, we do not take you for granted too.

The George Miller's well-loved road film has six awards—including costume design, production design, make up and hairstyling, sound editing and sound mixing. Wow.

Star Wars’ Droids
Your favorite droids, BB-8 R2-D2 and C-3PO took the stage to honor Star Wars composer John Williams, who recently received his 50th Oscar nomination. The robots then wandered on to the stage while looking for their seats and stopped to comment on C-3PO’s resemblance to the Oscar statuette.
Impressive gig, we must say.

If you’ve been hard partying over the weekend, and had (unintendedly) missed out on this year’s biggest night in Hollywood—read on for our top highlights from the show, including your favourite Star Wars’ droids taking over the night.

And, the headline from this year’s Oscars: Leonardo DiCaprio wins an Oscar after 20 years. Good going Leo!

The 88^th Academy Awards is undoubtedly the biggest event in Hollywood and it saw us through aplenty of tears, hugs and some yelping— all while the talents were being recognised for their hardwork and contributions in the form of the iconic Oscars statuette and of course, media coverages and social media fame.

Though we were disappointed at Star Wars’ zero wins from its five nominations, we were heartened with Lady Gaga’s meaningful effort in eradicating rape cases in America.

Other special highlights include best actor Leonardo DiCaprio calling for climate change in his acceptance speech, cutest co-stars best actress Brie Larson and mini Jacob Tremblay, Chris Rock’s monologue and unexpected win from best supporting actress Alicia Vikander.

One word’s for it—phenomenal.
