As part of the SG50 celebrations, “Singapore: Inside Out” aims to put local talents to the forefront of the creative industry across a broad spectrum, from architecture to F&B.

To the world, Singapore is either affiliated with business affairs or tourism; a dip in the infinity pool at MBS or a shopping spree on Orchard Road. But for the best part of 2015, as Singapore turns 50, the spotlight will be on the city’s best creative talents and contemporary scene.

Led by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Singaporean architect and artist Randy Chan, Singapore: Inside Out will showcase the acclaimed works of Singaporeans within the sectors of architecture, design, fashion, film, food & beverage, music, and literary, performing and visual arts.

“Through my architectural practice, I’ve had the privilege of sharing Singapore with overseas audiences and am often surprised at how little is known about our burgeoning creative scene. As both an architect and artist, I am very excited to be given this rare opportunity of introducing a slice of our creative scene and talents internationally,” said Mr Chan, the appointed project’s Creative Director, in a statement. “Visitors to the showcase can expect an engaging and immersive experience specially designed to surprise and challenge their current perceptions of Singapore.”

As part of the SG50 events for Singapore’s golden jubilee, the multi-disciplinary travelling showcase will debut this April in Beijing, before flying to London in June and New York in September. The talents have five days in each of these world class cities before concluding their trip back home in Singapore for a 10-day presentation come November.
