Did you know that 1 in 3 women are wearing the wrong bra size? Many women stick with ill-fitting, uncomfortable bras because they are either too shy or too rushed to take the time to ask for help. Which is why we’re here to provide you with all the tips and tricks to finding the perfect size and shape for your breasts.

Smaller breasts:

If you have smaller breasts, it is most likely that they are bigger at the bottom than at the top. A low-scoop style will give you the right amount of support, right where you need it. Looking for something a little more sexy? Why not try out a triangle lace bra.

Medium breasts:

If you’re in the B-D range, you’re quite lucky – many bra styles will be just right for you. Want some cleavage without irritating padding then go with a plunge bra that is both supportive and sexy. Perfect with cocktails dresses, a shelf or balcony bra is a good way to achieve a natural look with unwanted bra lines.

Larger breasts:

If you have larger and, or sagging breasts, opt for a style that covers the entire area (also known as a multi-part cup bra). If you suffer from back pain, racer-back bras may just be your saviour. Looking for something a little more evening-appropriate? A bustier bra will do just the trick.

Go a little tighter:

80% of your support is held in the band (not the straps), so it should fit snug but be comfortable. A trade secret: You should only be able to fit two fingers between the band and your skin.

It’s all in the underwire:

If you’re not quite filling out the bra, you may need to check that your underwire is perfectly placed just below your breasts, on the ribcage. If not, consider going a size down.

Give it a twirl:

Whilst in the fitting room (yes, you must try before you buy), turn to the side and raise your arms above your head. If the back moves up, your bra is too big.

Ask for help:

Although you may be embarrassed, the store employees are trained to provide you with help on bra measurements. Don’t be shy at all.

And ladies, don’t wear sports bras unless you are working out – it isn’t entirely ideal for your breast tissues. Instead, opt for a comfortable cotton T-Shirt bra with no underwire – a quick fix right there.
