100+50 Music Festival
Held at Bedok Reservoir no less, this is one grand music festival you don't want to miss - this would would give every other music festival a run for their money. Featuring 150 local acts, including those from the electronic music scene, the auditory extravaganza is set to be held over 3 glorious weekends. So if you're wondering who exactly are these 150 local bands, be sure to make a trip down and secure a spot front and centre!
100+50 will be held at Bedok Reservoir from 31 July - 2 Aug, 7 - 9 Aug and 14 - 16 Aug. Admission is free.

1965
If you'd like to get a good cinematic telling of Singapore's history and especially to the events leading up to independence, then 1965 would be the movie to watch. The dramtic thriller film sees Lim Kay Tong, who plays Singapore's founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, overcoming racial tensions and bringing the people together for a united nation during that tumultous period.
Set to release on 30 July, be sure to book your tickets early!

Fireworks
If there's one thing most of us look forward to every National Day - besides the public holiday - it's the grand display of fireworks. And with this year being Singapore's Golden Jubilee, the pyrotechnics are expected to be the grandest yet.
Be sure to head down early on 9 August and secure a spot along the Marina Bay Sands area or the Fullerton Bay, because trust us the crowd will swell.

LKY Musical
If musicals are more your thing then explore Singapore's yester years through LKY Musical. With Adrian Pang playing Mr Lee Kuan Yew and Sharon Au as his wife, the play essentially tells the tale of Lee Kuan Yew's life from school days right up to fighting for independence. The emotional and stirring performance will definitely cause some tears to well up so brace yourselves for it!
Running till 16 August, tickets are currently available at Sistic.

SG Heart Map Bus Tours
You may have lived in Singapore all your life but how well do you really know this place that you call home? Held at the Singapore Sports Hub over the jubilee weekend, you can expect to have a ball of a fun while literally kicking balls around!

Sing50
With 50 being the big number this year, Sing50 will be going down memory lane and showcasing over 50 years of Singapore music. Featuring both local and international acts, you can expect a whole selection of genres ranging from pop, rap and jazz across the nationa's four languages - English, Malay, Indian and Chinese.
