What I Love About You is Your Attitude Problem
Over 12 hours, Checkpoint theatres will be presenting 24 text-based performances. The performance features artistic works by Singaporeans which were curated by Huzir Sulaiman.

Booker-Prize nominee, Deborah Levy will be discussing the mortal obsessions of need and want while also sharing excerpts from her short story collection, Black Vodka, and the Man Booker shortlisted novel, Swimming Home.

This musical event will feature two local rock bands, In Each Hand A Cutlass and I am David Sparkle. Both will be performing a specially curated act based on the theme of SWF 2015.

Imagine Singapore

What will the future landscape of Singapore look like? In this dialogue, three speakers, Ho Kwon Ping, Bertha Henson, Pooja Nansi  will be discussing their personal experiences and aspirations for Singapore.

Songwriting with Hollie Fullbrook
Aspiring songwriters and musicians will get the chance to pick the brain of singer-songwriter Hollie Fullbrook. The frontwoman of the acclaimed band Tiny Ruins will be conducting a workshop sharing her songwriting process. Participants will also get to attempt writing exercises involving wordplay and rhyming strategies.

Mystery writer Sophie Hannah, is a busy woman, she was even chosen by Agatha Christie's estate to write the new Hercule Poirot. In this session, she will generously share her experiences of juggling all her projects.

What I Love About You is Your Attitude Problem

Singapore Writers Festival strikes a different chord this year with musical collaborations, theatre and film alongside literary events.

The Singapore Writers Festival (SWF) returns this year with a fresh perspective, featuring music, theatre and film events alongside standard literary workshops and lectures. Themed “Island of Dreams”, SWF 2015 will run form 30 Oct to 8 Nov.

Over the 10 days, more than 300 events will be held across five different categories – SWF Stage (Marquee Events), SWF Class (Workshops & Masterclasses), SWF for Families, SWF Beyond (Transcending Language and Genre) and SWF Pop (Fun & Surprising Pop-Ups).

Speakers this year will include philosopher Michael Sandal, former Financial Times columnist Heather McGregor and singer-songwriter Hollie Fullbrook.

Other than lectures, the festival will also feature a musical collaboration, Dimensions and Demons as well as a text-based perfomance titled What I love About You Is Your Attitude Problem.
