Why: Step back in time into a gaudy, glamorous Bohemian world when love conquered all. When to love, and be loved, fuelled creative inspiration and demanded greatness, and life was lived with hearts worn on sleeves.

What: in OUR Shoes

When: Thursday, 8th January to Sunday, 25th January; 11am - 9pm

Where: Kapok, #01-05, National Design Centre, 111 Middle Road

Why: In conjunction with Singapore50, students from local design schools were tasked to use white Hudson shoes as a canvas for aspects of Singapore that matters most to them. Witness their works at this exhibition.

Where: Zouk, 17 Jiak Kim Street
Why: Back on the back of bassic, this boundless Velvet residency (now in its third year) comes smashing into 2015 with Jamie xx. He, as you already know, is the producer and remixer du jour best known for his work with English indie outfit, The xx, but has also made a name for himself as a solo mainstay on the much-lauded Young Turks label and with his endless list of remix duties for the likes of Four Tet, Adele, Nosaj Thing, Florence + The Machine and more.

With an amazing musical score that includes the timeless Memory, spectacular set designs, stunning costumes and breathtaking choreography, CATS is a magical musical like no other.

Why: For the past year, Music Improvisation Collective has been building positive music communities through engagement at the Esplanade library on a regular basis and they are extending this concept geographically.
This is their first-ever, 'pop-up' initiative to bring improvisational music and jazz to the community and office crowds. They invite you to chill out to some free live music on a Friday evening!

Why: Michael Janssen Singapore is pleased to present its first solo exhibition with Singaporean artist Jason Wee titled 'Requiem (The Sea Can’t Reach You Now)'.
Featuring a series of sculptural and other associated objects that on their own individually constitute a different mode of mourning, Requiem articulates an architecture of grief and exposes the ambiguity in mourning that always seems to surface.
