Precious Eggs: Of Art, Beauty and Culture

Why: The 'Precious Eggs: Of Art, Beauty and Culture' exhibition by the Singapore Philatelic Museum features an impressive selection of 148 one-of-a-kind eggs. And mind you, these are not just any eggs; they're some of the most ornate and delicate pieces from the Liechtenstein National Museum. In fact, a few of the egg pieces are so delicate and that they were even hand-carried! Visitors will get to admire a glass egg containing ashes from the 1980 Mt. Helena volcanic eruption, a pair of imperial porcelain factory eggs from 1914 that survived both the civil revolutions and WWI and more.

Arts on the Move: Create Your Own Dialect Book

Why: Concerned that the younger generation aren't picking up dialect? Well, here's your chance to create your very own dialect book to share with them! Through this session, you'll get to learn about colour theory and basic colour pencil techniques to customise and personalise your own dialect book in your very own dialect. Not only will get to bring home the dialect book to share with your friends and family, you'll also get to enjoy the therapeutic effects of colouring.

Yellow Ribbon Run
When: 17 September

Where: Start Point: SAF Field, Farnborough Road (near Changi Village)

Why: The annual Yellow Ribbon run is a great initiative to support the social acceptance and re-integration of ex-offenders. Along the race route, you'll get to pass through historical sites such as Changi Prison, named as one of Singapore's national monuments in 2016. Proceeds raised from the run will go to the Yellow Ribbon Fund, which supports the rehabilitation and reintegration programmes for ex-offenders, and support programmes for their families and their children.

Embracing Diversity: An Exhibition
