Gone Down Under: Australia Day Celebration

Why: 26 January is officially Australia Day, but Tanjong Beach Club will be taking it up a notch this Sunday with an arvo of good fun for Aussies and locals alike - with crowd-pleasers like a proper Sausage Sizzle and even Aussie DJs Dave Code, Dave Does and Adam Sky covering the music scene with the latest Top 40s. Load up on the calories with the likes of Aussie burgers, egg rolls and even chocolate lamingtons! It’s yet another excuse to party hard this long weekend!

Why: Usher in the Year of the Rooster by having a cluckin’ good time at the Singapore Art Museum. Sure, it may not be the first place you think of when it comes to celebrating the Lunar New Year, but trust us when we say it’s worth bringing the kids down to SAM this Sunday. Expect family-friendly activities and even a CNY Festive Photo Booth, so come dressed for the occasion! Yes, there will even be a Lion Dance ‘Cai Qing’ Performance and God of Fortune Meet & Greet at the Front Lawn!

Beers on the Lawn

Why: Escape from the intense Chinese New Year celebrations for a few moments and relax with a couple of lip-smacking ice cold craft beers and ciders (going for just SGD10 each) while you enjoy some laid-back beats and the lush tropical atmosphere at PS Cafe @ Harding Road.

Gone Down Under: Australia Day Celebration

The long weekend will no doubt be filled with plenty of family activities.

With Chinese New Year in our midst, we’re sure many of you will be busy preparing for the long weekend break. However, for those of you not spending your next few days visiting relatives or hosting reunions, it might be worth taking a peek at our list of interesting activities happening around the island over the next few days. Of course, being the CNY period, it might seem a little quiet on the events front island-wide, but we’ve managed to curate a quick round-up that includes relaxing sessions and family-friendly fun.

For those in the mood to party, Tanjong Beach Club is throwing a grand celebration, Aussie style, this Sunday (yes, Australia Day is today, but they’re carrying on their festivities right into the weekend). And for those interested in art, the Singapore Art Museum will be ushering in the Year of the Rooster with their own Lunar New Year art-themed celebration, complete with a Lion Dance performance and a God of Fortune meet-and-greet.
