Why: This is one fantastic theatrical event not to be missed. Dedicated to celebrating contemporary Singaporean theatre, the festival will feature 8 plays of varying genres that encapsulate the culture and nuances of the Singaporean way of life. From comedic elements to heart-warming productions, you’ll have to catch at least one of these plays if you’re a real fan of local theatre! Sam Tsui & Kurt Hugo Schneider – Live In Singapore

Why: Grab your tickets to catch YouTube singing sensations Sam Tsui and Kurt Hugo Schneider perform live in Singapore for their Asia Tour. Yes, they’re the guys who cover a whole slew of medleys, covers, mash-ups and super fun tunes in the most visually stunning ways on YT. And their fanbase is massive. You won’t want to miss such incredible talent, so catch these fellas doing what they do best at Kallang Theatre on 6 July!

SHINE Festival
When: 1 - 3 July
Where: Orchard Road
Why: The annual SHINE Festival is back! Launched in July 2005, this year will mark the festival’s 11th anniversary. Celebrating and showcasing the talents of youths nationwide, the theme for 2016 is #YourNextStage, which aims to inspire and promote individual interests and passions of the youths of Singapore. Head to Orchard to catch some stunning performances by the likes of Shigga Shay and Gentle Bones, and also look out for awesome talent showcases and dance battles!

Community Awareness Carnival
When: 2 - 3 July
Where: AMK Central Stage
Why: Aiming to educate the community about the aging process and how to age gracefully using available resources, this carnival is meant for the whole family. Head down to AMK Central Stage with your elders to catch some interesting dance performances and engage in health and wellness talks. Hosted by the Home Nursing Foundation, there will even be health screenings at the venue from 8 - 11am on both days, so make good use of the opportunity!

Grand Opening of Ministry of Durian

Petrichor Exhibition

Where: SHOPHOUSE 5, Lorong 24A, Geylang
Why: Featuring a diverse collection of works in one space, this exhibition will showcase artworks that take on various styles and mediums, from macroscopic-marbled fabrics to irradiated pointillism portraits. Artists include Ashley Yeo, Gabriela Butti, Gabriele Dini, Melissa Tan, Ruben Pang and Weixin Chong.

A Cappella Championships

Where: Singapore Polytechnic Auditorium
Why: Pitting a huge list of the best A Cappella groups from all over Singapore to compete in a massive sing-off, expect some mesmerising performances of varying genres - from jazz to pop to the classics. International Reggae Day Singapore 2016
